The funding measures for NFDI consortia to date do not allow for significant investment expenditures. However, as the NFDI becomes successfully established, there is an increasingly evident need for data storage infrastructure.
The DFG storage call initiative aimed at universities that participate in or plan to participate in the activities of one or more NFDI consortia by operating a data storage system. In accordance with the DFG program guidelines, investment costs are eligible specifically for all types of storage systems, such as data provision, long-term archiving, georedundant data mirroring, or data processing.
NFDI4DS successfully cooperates with TU Dresden and the Zuse Institut Berlin as Infrastructure Providers.
