AI Meets RDM - Research Data Management Infrastructure for AI and AI for Research Data Management Infrastructure?
We are excited to announce this year’s NFDI4DS conference, our annual community event, an opportunity to meet in person and to exchange ideas. This year, the conference will take place for two days at the prestigious Weizenbaum Institute in the center of Berlin at the 5th and 6th of Nov 2026. The event is planned to take place lunch-to-lunch. One highlight on the evening of the first day will be our traditional NFDI science slam.
This year our topic will be Research Data Management (RDM) Infrastructure for AI on the one hand and AI for Research Data Management Infrastructure on the other hand.
RDM Infrastructure for AI
As data science and artificial intelligence become central pillars of research, there is an urgent need for innovative infrastructures that address the critical demands for transparency and reproducibility in this new era. Robust frameworks are required to cope with data, models, and code throughout the entire lifecycle of scientific resources.
AI for RDM Infrastructure
Conversely, modern research data management can be significantly enhanced by leveraging generative AI to automate complex tasks throughout the entire lifecycle of scientific resources. These advanced systems can, for instance, automatically extract metadata from scientific articles or provide interactive chat interfaces, allowing researchers to query and contextualize datasets.
Call to action
We encourage people from diverse backgrounds to submit an abstract. We especially invite interested people from NFDI consortia and data competency centers to join us.
