NFDI4DS organizes different events that explain research data infrastructures to the general public.
In cooperation with the Berlin Science Week, NFDI4DS hosts a yearly Science Slam. The idea is to explain the work of the NFDI and its consortia in an understandable and entertaining way.
Up to now, we successfully ran three editions in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025 with 18 slams from 13 NFDI consortia in total. The event attracted up to 80 participants in-person and up to 200 participants virtually.

2026 NFDI Science Slam
This year’s NFDI Science Slam will take place in November in Berlin in cooperation with Berlin Science Week. An in-person event is planned.
The Motto is “Science Slam on Research Data Management: Going Wild with AI”
