NFDI4DS has multiple efforts to engage with the community. We are currently focusing on:

Community involvement via Requirements Elicitation - User Interviews, User Surveys and development of Personas.
Community empowerment via Training and Education and Events.
Community engagement via Shared Tasks and Hackathons for enhancing our tools and services.
Partner onboarding via Speed Boat Projects for supplementing our tools and service portfolio.

NFDI Science Slam

Success Story

The NFDI Science Slam - organized by NFDI4DataScience - combines entertainment with research data management topics

NFDI4DS organises various events that bring research data infrastructures closer to the general public.

In cooperation with Berlin Science Week, NFDI4DS organises a Science Slam every year. The idea is to explain the work of the NFDI and its consortia in an understandable and entertaining way.

So far we have successfully implemented 3 issues in 2021, 2022 and 2023 with a total of 14 slams from 11 consortia. Up to 80 people participated in the event personally and up to 200 people virtually. All slams are available on Youtube.
